On Sunday 12th June 2022 the World Dancesport Federation held their annual general meeting. Such meetings across the world are protected by law to allow for the efficient and compliant running of an organization. It was great to see the re-initialization of the WDSF Forum the day before which gave wider access to all members.
During these times of challenges where international travel still remains difficult it was amazing to see the WDSF decide to implement online meetings allowing full participation for all members and in previous years such events were broadcast to the wider world for all to see.
The online forum provides an opportunity for wider input via an online call for all but the AGM for both amateurs and professionals were restricted with no open access this year. We await the minutes or press release to understand more about what and how the Presidium plan to tackle the concerns of financial management, the increased costs of the Olympics on the wider membership and the plans to bring back dancers post covid.
